Marilyn (Apollo-Capotosto) Bartoli, 90, passed away on October 4, 2024, in Las Vegas, NV.
Marilyn was born in Akron, Ohio, to Frank & Kitty Capotosto (parents) on May 12, 1934.
Marilyn moved from Ohio to California in 1950 where she graduated from Rosemead High in
California at the age of 18. She joined the United Service Organizations (USO) to entertain the
US troops during the Korean War. After her tour, she went into the entertainment industry where
she worked in Toronto, Canada, for four years to pursue her career in entertainment. After that,
she came to Las Vegas where she opened at Caesars Palace as a singer and dancer, and
numerous other Las Vegas hotels. She became the star of Fire & Ice at the Hacienda Hotel
where she met her beloved husband Robert Bartoli. In 1973, she married Robert Bartoli and
enjoyed a beautiful marriage for over 51 years. In the 1980s, Marilyn ventured into the real
estate world, and in 1985, she served as the Women's Council of Realtors (WCR) President. In
1986, she was elected by her peers as the WCR Nevada’s Woman of the Year. In the 1990s,
she worked for the City of Henderson’s Parks and Recreation as a water aerobics instructor and
retired at the age of 89.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Bartoli, her parents, her sister Jan,
and brothers Ron and Don. Marilyn is survived by her sister Kristina Grieco and her husband
Joe, her cousin Shirley Petracca, five nephews, Doug Anderson, Ron Capotosto Jr., Rick
Detisch III, Josh Mcalister, and Eric Capotosto, two nieces, Deana Morgan and Cee Cee
Capotosto, nine great-nephews, two great-nieces, and extended family from her late husband,
Robert Bartoli.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 7, 2024, at St. Thomas More
Catholic Church located at 130 North Pecos Road, Henderson, NV, 89074.
The family of Marilyn wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Nathan Adelson and Desert
Memorial for their great care of Marilyn during her transition from this life into the next. In lieu of
flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association in Marilyn’s name.
