In Loving Memory of Katherine Joan Young
1949 ~ 2019

Katherine Joan Young,  known as Kate to family and friends, passed away
Tuesday, December 10th 2019 at age 70 in
Las Vegas, Nevada, where she was a lifelong resident.

The daughter of Richard and Monica Small.
Kate is survived by her beloved son Michael Young,
her protective older brother Michael Small,
and her twin brother Richard Small,
with whom she shared a special bond.
She is also survived by Richard's wife Sandy,
who was not only family but also a loving friend.
In addition, Kate has numerous nieces and nephews
with whom she held a mutual love and appreciation.

Born August 25th 1949, Kate attended Bishop Gorman High School
and later graduated from Valley High School.
After a 30-plus year career working for the State of Nevada,
Kate redefined the idea of retirement by taking several jobs in new fields.
Most notably, she thrived working as an usher at The Orleans Arena,
a job she loved and where she made many wonderful friends.

Per her wishes, a small informal memorial will be held for family and friends to pay their respects.
The celebration of Kate's life will be held on Tuesday, December 17th at 11:00 am, at
Desert Memorial, 1111 Las Boulevard North, Las Vegas, NV 89101
