Joseph Rizzo
March 31st , 1928 – August 2nd , 2021
Joe, 93 passed away peacefully in his sleep in his adopted hometown of
Las Vegas. He was born in Bridgeport, CT. He proudly served two tours
in the Army during WW2. He moved to southern California after the
Army, where he remained until his retirement. He relocated to Las
Vegas with his wife Nancy, who proceeded him in death.
He was a lifelong Ironworker and proud of it. He was a member of The
California and the International Ironworkers Unions. Through
dedication and hard work. He rose to the position of Business Agent
for the California Ironworkers Union. A position he held until his
retirement. He kept very involved as long as he was able. He loved
supporting his union brothers by walking the picket lines right along
with them.
Joe was kind, generous and a bit of a handful. He spoke his mind and
had no regrets about doing it. Those that knew him can attest to that.
You knew when Joe entered a room. He made sure of it. He was a
character and one who will be missed by the friends and family he left
behind.
He is survived by his Daughters Laura Reece and Kim Boltz (John),
Grandson-Jonathon McPheeters (Farren), Granddaughters–JoAnne
Mcpheeters-Lobo (Joe) and Kelli Reece (Luke), Grandsons-Dallas
Garrison, Daniel McPheeters and soon to join us, Douglas Lobo.
A celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined.
