Our favorite and most beloved musician and trumpeter Gary J. Davis, 87, blew his last note on March 22, 2022.
Gary was born August 8, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio. He was raised in Medina, Ohio and graduated from Medina High School in 1954. He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1957, during which time he was a proud member of the Army Drum and Bugle Corp at Ft. Bragg. He then went on to graduate from IBM Technical School in Ohio and was employed for over 50 years at A1 Office Solutions in Las Vegas where he proudly repaired typewriters, old and new. He was a 60 year resident of Las Vegas. He spent his time playing trumpet and singing as a founding member of the Desert Knights band and served as music director for the Bootleggers.
He continued to play his beloved music and work until Jan 2022. Gary is survived by his loving partner of 40 years Mary A. Jerome, his children, Lennie K. Davis, Kenneth J. Davis, Cris T. Stonerock, Austin Scott Davis, Martin R. Davis, Jon Marshall, Morgan Davis, William Davis and Lynette Jerome, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Elory Alden Davis and Beverly Maxine (nee Demlow) Davis, brother William E. Davis (Mary), sister Diane Riley (Mike), his son Elory A. Davis and son in law Robert T Stonerock.
Gary will be interred at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery on a date to be announced
