Edward Aaron Custard
Edward (Eddie, Big Ed) Aaron Custard 56, of Las Vegas, Nevada. passed away in the hospital on Sunday, August 22, while coping with the after effects of a stroke he suffered last November.
Eddie was born on April 28, 1965 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his parents Prosperity Edward Custard, Jr. and Mary Faye (Lopes) Custard. Growing up, Eddie lived in both Boston and Brockton, Massachusetts before the family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada for his high school years. Eddie attended and graduated from Clark High School where he was well liked and participated in both football and track & field. After high school, Eddie attended Antelope Valley Community College where he was joined by his brother, Tyrone, and they both played on the football team.
Eddie held numerous jobs during his life. He joined his father at Silver State Disposal for a time, worked as a bouncer and bar back at a few casinos, did asset protection at Walmart, Sam's Club and Ross, was a forklift driver at Costco, a manager at Burger King, and served as a Southern Wine & Spirit Warehouse Supervisor but he most enjoyed those roles where he worked directly with people. Eddie also very much enjoyed volunteer coaching his son Aaron's football team, the Packers, in the Nevada Youth Football League (NYFL). Despite living in Las Vegas for most of his life, Eddie remained a diehard Boston Celtic and New England Patriots fan. He could often be seen wearing a Celtics or Patriots hat, jersey or both. Eddie loved sports and was also a great bowler, something he picked up from his parents.
Eddie was known for and will be remembered for his warm smile and huge heart.
Eddie is survived by his sons, Aaron Prosperity James Custard of Oakland, California and Sean Edward Jason Custard and his new grandson Princeton Edward Carter Custard of Las Vegas, his spouse, Pamela Crump of Las Vegas, his brothers Tyrone Ethan Custard of Las Vegas and Kenneth Jason Custard and wife Bobbi Custard of Federal Way, Washington and sisters Roxanne Nicole Custard of Egg Harbor City, New Jersey and Mary (Cookie) Elizabeth Custard of Amherst, Massachusetts, sister-in-law Sheila Custard of Denver, Colorado, and Uncle Jerome and Aunt Dorothy Custard of Brockton, Massachusetts along with many cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws and dear friends who will miss Eddie tremendously. Eddie was filled with joy when Sean informed him that he was going to be a grandfather and when he saw pictures of his newborn grandson Princeton Edward.
The Custard family would like to thank the staff at the DaVita Dialysis Center for their professionalism, communication and compassion. Thank you also to Eddie's longtime friend, Vence Hutchinson, for his friendship and support.
In loving memory of Edward Aaron Custard.
