1932 – 2021


On October 19, 2021, Christine Smith, 88, passed away at her home in North Las Vegas, Nevada after a
long and well-lived life. Born in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Alfred and Rose Capobianco, she was
preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Smith Sr., and sisters Carmella, Nettie, Evelyn, Clara,
and Theresa.
Christine is survived by her children, Donna Shrewsberry, Edward Smith Jr., Susan and Jerry Evans, and
Roger Smith. She was a fun and loving grandma to 20 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and three
great-great-grandchildren.
Music brought great joy to Christine throughout her lifetime. A child prodigy, she learned to play piano
and accordion at the young age of four. She became an accountant and married the love of her life, Ed,
with whom she spent 64 years of wedded bliss. In the latter years of retirement, Chris and Ed relocated
to Nevada, where they enjoyed spending time with family hosting gatherings and celebrations at their
home in North Las Vegas. Christine and her infectious laughter will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Neumann Roman Catholic
Church, 2575 W. El Campo Grande Avenue, North Las Vegas, Nevada on November 27, 2021 at 10:00am.
